Moreover, the Deluxe Interior found its way into only 3,339 convertibles in 1968 compared to over 22,000 completed with the standard interior! Adding to this gorgeous vehicle is a very strong list of factory options which includes J-code 302ci V8-4V Premium Fuel engine, C4 automatic transmission, Selectaire air conditioning, GT Equipment Package, power disc brakes, power steering, power convertible top with glass backlite, white reflective C-stripe, tinted glass, AM/FM radio, and correct F70-14 white lettered nylon tires!
Finding such an impressive list of options on any Mustang is always a treat, but to have such a rare color on all original sheetmetal, including floors, is nearly unheard of these days! Built new in San Jose, CA, it sold to it’s first owner from a "Ford Dealership" known as Philco Corp WDL (Western Development Laboratories) located in Palo Alto, CA. Philco was a space engineering firm that produced satellites in the 1960's which was actually owned by Ford Motor Company as their space systems division of Ford Aerospace! It's just one more very interesting tale of a very special car that probably went to an employee within the vast Ford empire! This car has seen only a complete restoration that included its first repaint from new, new interior upholstery, new convertible top & boot, exhaust, tires, rebuilt drive train and suspension! It has traveled only 500 miles since completion and is undoubtedly ready to show and drive! It comes complete with Marti report, original door tag, owner's manual, warranty booklet, radio instruction booklet, and driver safety tips brochure.
